such a rough life...

king sized bed....

flat screened tv....

Today we are joining....Weekend Reflections

Nolan continues to do well....

he is eating good...

playing hard...

a big change from this time last week...

when we thought he wouldn't make it...

the new diet seems to be agreeing with both of them...

Nolan is not requiring as much insulin either...

Friday Fences

Thank you for all your well wishes...

Nolan is feeling better than he has in months...

he likes his new diet too...

we are trying cooking for him and Jake...

we found a recipe for Jack Mackrel...oatmeal...

green beans...mixed veggies...

boy do they like it....

we have found some other recipes to try also...

hopefully it will work out....

More Ball Action....

Had a little ball game with Rooster...

he is a very intense ball player...

we are still going easy with him to make sure he is healed...

he doesn't understand the going easy part...

Nolan got to eat today...he was sure happy...

we have to change his diet again...

we are thinking about cooking for him instead of regular food...

being diabetic...and now the worry of his pancreas...

we want to be safe...Jake will eat what he eats...

we could barely get Jake to eat anything while Nolan was fasting...

I guess he wanted to support Nolan...

today Jake ate like normal...

animals are funny creatures...

Thank you everyone for keeping Nolan in your prayers...

he is doing great...he barked at Rooster...

he is chasing his tennis ball...

he is hungry...still no food until tomorrow...

we have to give him a IV drip twice a day....

it is irating him...which is a good sign...

Merry Christmas...

hope Santa paws was good to you all...

Please say a little prayer for Nolan...

he has pancreatitis....

I didn't know till today it is common in Schnauzers...

also common with diabetic dogs...

he has had a few episodes in the last 4 months...

we thought is was his insulin was off...

in the back of my mine I thought pancreatitis...

because after a few days of not eating...

he would be okay...

this time it seems to be worse...

so my hubby took him in to the vet...

his blood sugars were fine...

but the pancrease was way out of kilter...

we should know in 3 or 4 days how he is going to do...

I went through this with my Mom...and my FIL...

it is a very painful thing to have....

he is being a real trouper....



Just wanted to let everyone know...

we took the rat away from Ginger right after the photos...

she is doing great...

the active squirrels have been keeping everyone busy...

including Rooster....

he is using his ball playing energy to chase them....

his foot is heeling up nicely...

the border patrol has been on active duty...

saving the property from those pesky squirrels....

well they are working on it....

they are out numbered by those tree rats..

so far no casualties.....

oh yuck....a RAT.....

she was quite proud of herself....

strutted around with it...

then she rolled on it...

uggg...no kisses for you Ginger.....

Bath time....

Blissful Adventures week 3...

well guess who decided to jump the fence again...

she has been limping around for a couple of days...

we think she must have got tangled up in something...

we were just saying maybe her age was catching up with her...

then she decides to escape....

she was out most of the day...

we think she was trying to proof to us she still has it in her...

One of our neighbors hollered over the fence...

evidently she had been in his back yard for about 30 minutes...

she had been barking...

and their children were afraid to go out there...

I guess she had a varmit treed in their back yard...

hubby went and picked her up...

brought her back home...

thank goodness this is the neighbor without chickens....

I wish we had a camera on her collar

to see what she did all day...

a little bonding time....

Jake was made to cuddle...

to lounge with...

but he sure needs a bath....

 I told him he couldn't catch me...

Will the real Rudolf...please stand up....

Blissful Adventures week 2....take out chicken....

Bliss has always been an adventurous girl...

she has always had a taste for chicken....

one day we heard a lot of commotion going on the the back...

JD our blue heeler was barking like crazy....

we go outside to see Bliss at the water bowl...

she is pushing something under the water....

can you guess what it was???

it was a chicken...

she had brought a chicken home...

was drinking water....

 pushing a chicken under the water...

it was popping up...clucking like crazy...

JD our blueheeler was running around the water barking...

Bliss just kept on drinking...

pushing the chicken back under ever time it popped up...

my son rescued the chicken...

tossed it over the back fence...

that chicken ran for it's life...

we don't know where she found it...

we didn't even know that she had gotten out...

(this was before our next door neighbors had chickens)

Bliss was not to happy with us....

her chicken dinner was gone....
